Cecelia Figueras received her Bachelor and Master's in nursing and was a Physician Assistant from Long Island, NY.  She retired to Orlando, FL with her husband, Roberto Figueras back in the late 90's.  About 20 years ago Cecelia Figueras began attending the Downtown YMCA and noticed many senior citizens hanging around without any structure to socialization.  So, she approached the leadership to asked permission to create a social group, where she was able to create a great network and provide health care education...hence The Sunshine Club.

For many years the The Sunshine Club evolved to an awesome group with weekly get togethers, outings, luncheons, birthday celebrations and guest speakers.  Cecelia was passionate about the club and brought a beautiful variety of entertainment.
